We have tuned 2 so far with no complaints. I haven’t done any internet research on it, just real world experience, and both customers have no clutch issues. ---

They sure do haul ass though with a flash. The oem clutches are usually pretty tough. ---

I think I may go that route once it’s paid off, which according to my amortization schedule will be in July of this year. :tup: ---

My MK6 GTI slipped with a tune and exhaust, @Minglor’s MK6 GTI slipped with just a Stage 1 tune…it’s a pretty common issue with the 2.0T setup, just speaking of my personal real world experience. ---

Yep. Mk6 gti clutch does not deal with a flash very well. Just my real world experience. Not sure if the golf R does any better. ---

The R is not a GTI, so it’s not really comparing apples to apples. Even then I have flashed countless MK5 and MK6 GTI’s and GLI’s and have never once had a customer with a clutch issue. Closest to a clutch issue we had was an 07 GLI that we flashed stage 2, intake, and downpipe at 60K miles and he had a dual mass flywheel failure at 125K miles. I checked the forums because of this post and the few threads I read were all people with postive things to say. This is the first I have heard of clutch issues. ---

This car is actually pretty fun and seems capable in the snow, but FUCK THE TRACTION CONTROL OVERRIDE. You can disable the stability control, but then if you get real squirrely, it cuts all throttle and starts firing calipers.
