# What's the deal with hitting sh1t in the road.

Can’t blame it on the town can we?
I hit what appeared to be a pipe coupler on the thruway today. It didn’t do much damage aside from shattering the factory skid plate and putting a dent in my exhaust. But had my car been lower or if i had a lip on, it would have been wasted.
Has anyone ever put the burden on the state? I am not planning on it, just curious.
Or would they just tell me to go fuck myself and go through my insurance?

Pretty sure unless you saw it fall off a state vehicle it’s not their problem.

excatlly. i tried todo something with this when i hit a wood crate in my car… the police just basicly laughed.

i hit a 2 x 4 on the 90 and it sucked because there were cars next to me so i could not avoid it. No damage but it pissed me off. And i find potholes to be more of a problem then shit in the roads either one is shitty though

Now if it were a pot hole or something like that, you might be able to do something.
My mother bent a rim once on a big ass pot hole and the town paid for the wheel.

You can claim it under collision if the damage is higher than your deductable
