Well Im moving to a new house and noticed a vacant lot next door, they gave me the contact number for the guy who owned it. but he was asking way way way to much for my liking…so i did some research and noticed he hasnt paid for his county taxes for the last 4 years [since 2004] My question is when would the county take back the lot? Could i offer the county to pay for the back taxes or i have to deal with the lot owner? What kind of laws is tehre agians tax delinquency for vacant lots? ---

does he do the upkeep on the lot? theres something that says if you keep a vacant lot up for x ammount of years you own it. My family got a lot that way, buy brush hogging it and keeping it mowed, it was like 5 or 10 years tho i cant remember ---

he mows the lawn in front, but it looks like a fuckin jungle inside the fence. he brought it in 03 so he could easily own it now ---

4 years of taxes doesnt sound like enough to foreclose but I think it would all depend on the value of the land and the amount of tax he is delinquent on. ---

Id like to know what the upkeep laws are too. Im in the same situation with a vacant lot next to me. Ive been mowing it for 2 years. Owners never take care of it. I should send him a bill. ---

He owes about 7k on taxes and the lot is vauled at 13k
