# Where can I get..

**Adjustable boost pressure switch - 1psi to 25psi (or higher)**
If you don’t know what it is, don’t ask. Google it up. I see them on eBay but
I figure if anyone knew of anywhere locally. I checked Princess Auto and
Cisco but no dice.
**Temperature switch (sorta like a thermostat).**
Same as above; looked but couldn’t find. Should activate switch at 180F
It would be best if you said a specific store’s name rather then “ **Try a hydrauilic specailist store** ”

Is this referring to a manual boost controller? If yes, Performance Improvements should have the TurboXS one…although it’s a little pricey.

No. The boost pressure switch is activated when it reaches a desired boost
level. It’s like flipping a toggle switch when the boost level reaches.
Handy for activating a warning light or even cutting fuel during boost spikes.

That “Home Depot” boost controller isn’t even close to the same as a decent one you would pickup from say Turbo XS or FP. But lets not change the topic of this thread.

Napa can special order it. About $50. This was about a year ago.

mms I did actually look through the Hobbs catalog and noticed their swtiches.
Will have to check them out at some point.
The eBay ones go for $12+S&H USD…

hobbs switch would be what u neeed, i dont think they are adjustable though,
what r u using it for ?
the theremostat switch u can get at canadian tire

If I had spare motors lying around I really wouldn’t need a warning light.
Plus, I may as well use that flashlight on my steering column for
something other then an RPM shiftlight. :hsugh:
The Hobbs units are adjustable but they have fairly close PSI ranges.
eg. 8-13psi, 14-24psi, 25-50psi

These are used mosly for water/meth injection.
My guess is, that’s what’s he’s using it for.

That was my intention, but I may use it for warning and fuel cut as well.
$50 seems kinda steep when they’re available online for cheaper (not
necessairly eBay). Gonna have to look some more.

Go for it then. Last I heard RX7s (FDs at least) go pop from fuel cut and over boost.

G man bad i dea on that fuel cut
think about it ? u cut fuel … what is still going on? u keep on pushing air in… spark is still there , left over fuel from the last cycle, but not the right amount … too little… too much air not enough fuel…what happens then G?
so lets do this, ill simplify it
over boost+not enough fuel+spark=holy pistons or BHG batman
but hey what do i know … hopefully my explination helps a bit more than the car gods explaination of RX-7 go boom from overboost
hey applesauce incase u hadnt noticed 13b’s go boom no matter what u do… but hey ur the guy going to school at laurier living in waterloo… u must know all about everything …
anyways G hope that halps u out a bit as to why fuel cut would be a bad idea… no offence dude , dont build a setup cuz a book said so, cuz i think that book is wrong … not all books know it all…or are accurate

I believe this was discussed some time ago. I think Adam (SHIFT\_KA24DET)
brought it up regarding what to cut; fuel or spark.
I understand the consequences, and it’s not something I would do until I’m
sure of it. I just used the book as an argument. One person doesn’t speak
for many. 🙂
