People are “just helping him out” by telling him how stupid his idea is. He might be too ignorant to realize it, but they really are looking out for him and his family.

you know what, kudos to you for defending your friend.
however, while your intentions are honorable, you should ask yourself this: “are we in any way prepared to hear opinions that are not aligned with ours?”
the answer to this question is a resounding NO. your friend came on here and asked advice about getting a monkey for his 3 year old daughter. after being soundly flamed, and deservedly so, you and him have resorted to picking internet fights with everyone. most of the time, you seem like a pretty nice guy on hear, so you should get the benefit of the doubt, but seriously, you guys should calm down.
viper’s comment about the snake for the puppy was funny. bottom line. im sorry that you guys can’t handle hearing things that you don’t want to hear, but that’s life. you can’t bully everyone into telling you what you want to hear. and if you could, then what would be the point of advice? :bloated:

my aunt is a vet tech and has worked with primates before. Told me that beginners should never have them as housepets. they will couse thousands of dollars in damage and possibly kill one of your family members. As far as chinchilas go, i have 1, they are great pets, kinda like rabits but faster.
