Does anyone know where to get amsoil or royal purple motorcycle/air cooled oil? I can’t find it (I also haven’t really been looking very hard either but…) ---

i think i saw amsoil at advance. ive never seen air cooled specific oil though. edit: also, youre on the internet. amazon is always the answer. Cheaper+no tax+brought to your door=win ---

how could the cooling system make any difference for oil type? ---

There is a specific type of oil for the v twin air cooled motors, they don’t use 5W30 or 10W30, they use 20W50. Is this for the Buell? Same kind of oil for the primary as the engine. ~ 2.5qts in swing arm and ~1qt in primary if you are changing that as well, which I’d receomend at each oil change interval as well. I use mobil 1 20w50 in my Buell, carquest, autozone etc should all have it. Amsoil isnt available at many places, if any? Because the Vtwins that are air cooled run much hotter than the liquid cooled bikes. Sometimes up to 300-400 degrees if you are doing a lot of city/stop and go riding. ---

The only “store” locally that carries amsoil that I know of is the VW dealer in orchard park. You can get redline at K&S by the river. Not sure if any carry 20w50. ---

walmart has royal purple… not sure if it’s air cooled or not. I saw it at autozone before, but that was a long time ago. ---

20w/50 on special at Pepboys. I think coupon deal is still in effect. Not sure if it’s what you’re looking for. ---

Autobone has 20/50 valvoline that the harley guys typically eat up like crazy. Its what my old boss used to use in his road king back in the day. ---
