# where to take pics???

I am sick of taking pics of my car in the parking lot in front of my house, and I generally want to take pics away from the house, and not in a parking lot.
Can’t do the Threemile Island (Ellicott Creek’s island) parking lot, even though the pedestrian bridge looks kinda cool. (the lot is all rocks and the driveway has a big curb. I bottomed out and knocked an exhaust tip crooked there…with STOCK height)
I’d like to get a pic with the Grand Island bridge(s) but it seems there is no good place to park…
Any other scenic ideas?
PS: I’ll go anywhere within 30 minutes and no tolls.

go down shawnee. veer to your right on to the small road before route 31. turn right on to unicorn. take pictures at the old nike missle site.
there’s also so neato places to take pictures near the river.

I have used this locale a few times. Spaulding Fiber plant. Look it up. I can’t remember the street name.

i think it was stealth who took a picture with his car on a sidewalk in front of some building down town. it was a front shot of his yellow vette. I still think about that picture.

a good photographer can turn almost any spot into a great location. I’ve seen a lot of shots that i wouldn’t consider, you just have to look at them differently. A lot of people tend to like the “industrial” theme, which automatically makes your car badass.
Try anything along the water, especially just off Furman Blvd. You have a freaking natural world wonder down the street which is perfect. Rick and i got some great shots there. The key is to work with POV’s, not necessarily a backdrop.
Some common ones:
Parking Garage
Under a bridge
In a field
abandoned buildings
On a waterfront
etc.
For instance…not a particularly “awesome” location, but he turned nothing into something.

I have seen nice pics where people go on top of a parking ramp in a city and take a pic with the city at night as the background
find some old industrial area, (it shouldnt be too hard here)
there is an old boat on rt5 on the buffalo/lackawanna border that is a cool background
here is a pic of an old train station in OP, with more pic taking skills it would probably come out really nice, my camera just sucks and i dont really know what im doing with taking pics, but here it is
if i think of anything else i will let you know

i remember seeing those pics and i would really like to kno where that was.
I would also like to go down on main street one night (after the subway is done) and park my truck like at a cross street and take a pic with looking down main in the background.
but anywa, my go-to spot for pics has and always will be Niawanda park on NT.
this is prob my favorite picture of my Porsche and it was from Niawanda.

I can’t find an address for that Spaulding Fiber place ANYWHERE. The only thing that seemed close placed it at Forest and Elmwood. :gotme:
edit: nevermind. I found it on Wheeler Street. (It’s spelled Fibre, in this case. 😉 )

I decided to stop a few days ago on Liberty Drive in Wheatfield/Niagara.
I actually wanted to take advantage of my 4x4 stance. And you’ll find that the Niagara Falls atmosphere gives you a nice display of colors to work with!
