You picked up one of the new Dell NAS? doh, Wish i knew you were in the market for a NAS I could of gave you the rundown. You’ll probably have a hard time putting linux on it is it’s like a normal modified OS with specific drivers. Netapp runs a specialized OS that has a special filesystem that is really nice. You can get your foot in the door with a TB on a NAS box for about 40/50k which isn’t bad.
