# Who's Switched Sides? Import/Domestic?

My Car(s) has been focused around Pontiac. Mainly because my Dad had Pontiacs when I was growing up. The more I work on my Ford F-150 Straight 6 the more I dispise GMs engineering on the Grand Am. Don’t even get me started on the Rack Assembly.
I have recently been pursuaded away from the domestic market. I have not technically made the switch but I am planning on it.

BMW -\> Ford -\> Pontiac
DD
Honda -\> Jeep
The bimmer was a 97 328i and was a hand me down from my dad, that lasted until i got my Mustang, which i drove for 3 years before buying the TA. The Trans Am is by far my favorite car so far, looking back on it, i was least impressed by the Ford.

Yep, not last purchase though. Last purchase I went from a Mexican built German to an American built Japanese. 🙂

Just bought a Saab 9-2X. Coming from a Camaro. Technically it is an import. Weird story though. GM + Saab + Subaru all in one.

With the onset of all of these transplants and a global market, one of these days polls like this will make no sense at all to most people, lol. That’s why I said focus on the vehicle make.

I have only owned one import car ever, for 6 months. I really really like my focus and its a very simple car to work on. I do however appreciate the import cars more as I valet quite a mix of cars. I despise anything GM however…does not matter, if its GM I hate it

92Chevy Blazer, 77 Cutlass Supreme, 99 Cadillac Escalade, 00Trans Am WS6.
They were all fun to drive. I enjoy driving my Trans Am the most and then my Escalade.
But its amazing how different the products quality is today compared to the past, I like alot of GM products and im happy with what i have owned. I havent switched.

DSMs were built in Illinois. So thats domestic right!?!

I guess i swiched from honda over to jeep… but my wrangler is just about the only domestic i’d want to own right now. If it wasn’t for me deploying soon I’d be buying a G35 for a nicer weather DD

A car is a car, and if a company can produce a bad ass car that does what I’m interested in (AKA pontiac firebird going fast, looking good and being fun) then that company makes a good car.
Whereas, I don’t like ford because there is nothing that I can afford that meets my criteria.
I was thinking about this last night…
I payed $7000 for a 2002 WRX with 128k miles on it…
I payed $5600 for a 1998 LS1 with 93k miles on it…
Imports do keep a baller ass resale value. I will give them that.

How do you like it? Its essentially a WRX wagaon isn’t it?
I had a 89 CRX si before I got the 99ex. Never switched here. Honda 4L! :tup:
