I can understand that you are frustrated. I can hardly say that I’ve been in your shoes when your husband is overseas at war. But my husband was on the road most of last year, sometimes weekends too, sometimes three four weeks at a time and it wasn’t any fun for me. Granted, like I said I can’t say that I’ve been in your shoes, I don’t have a child. And I probably have 15 years on you so my patience is a little longer as well. That being said for clarification. It’s good that you have found a support group to be involved with. This is probably the best thing for you right now. You seem very true to your relationship, so you need to focus on that. And focus on being with other women who are in the same situation. The older women who have been thru this time and time again will give you great wisdom if you ask and listen. Develop relationships w/ these women. They are going to be the biggest support system for you right now. I can’t give you advice for the most part b/c I haven’t been there, done that. About the falling asleep part. Well, he’s at war, and he’s probably physically AND mentally exhausted. Don’t take it personally, that is what you are doing. I’m sure he didn’t MEAN to fall asleep on you. He’s tired. Video games. Football. Internet. Remote. Well, all I can say is that he’s a man. Give him those little things that keep him entertained. You have the rest of your life to be with him don’t you? Why let little things like that get to you? They need sometimes to “zone out” be in their own little worlds where no one is telling them what to do, they aren’t stressing out about business or finances. Don’t let it get to you. I quote a famous saying “Pick your battles” and pick them well. The little things just don’t matter. Let him get away for a little while, it’s not that he wants to get away from YOU or YOUR FAMILY. It’s that sometimes, they just want to go on a little mental vacation. I do the same thing, don’t you? Cheers to you and yours for fighting the battle overseas. It will all be OK. Know that he loves you and your child and that he wants nothing more than to be at home with you both. Focus on keeping yourself busy, make a network of friends that you can depend upon that share the same circumstance as you do, and take care of your little one. He’ll be home soon, god speed. ---
