2-1 sales in units or 2-1 sales in $$$, cuz if it was $$$ figures then it would have crushed. I expected it to easily outsell in units, as they had more available and so far it seems more popular. ---

of course they sold more units…they had both available…and Christmas is not the end all tale of units sold. Both systems are great…I will prob have both at some point down the road. ---

Amazing… a console that you could actually find in stores outsold one that was nowhere to be found. Hell, the BestBuy and CircuitCity ads were still showing PS2’s because they didn’t have any PS3’s to sell. ---

I really want to pick a wii up, but I have other shit I should be doing instead of playing Wii, I need to have a life, I want a Wii… bah ---

I think them not being available was an initial problem for sure but i really soubt they will ever catch up now that everyone has played the wii and it is living up to the hype at launch unlike the ps3 that will probably not tap into its potential for a year. ---

side note… in another thread these “wiis” were said to be so elusive… my cousins from jersey are in right now, and they went to target to get pop/water/snacks stuff like that and left with 4… yes FOUR wiis… the shelf was full of them. amherst target apparently gets a lot of wiis. sry for the OT ---

well my only question was units vs price, because 1 60gb ps3 sold = roughly 2.5 wii’s So if they sold 2-1 units, then the ps3 still made more $$$. Although I think more units sold is a better thing because that ensures game sales will be larger as well as accessories, etc. etc. etc. :tup: to both systems. However I’d never dish out the price for a ps3 Also ot xbox 360 gears of war is simply stunning, (way OT so I’ll just end there lol) ---

more wiis shipped than ps3s…both sold out. shocking that more wiis sold than ps3s :eek: ---

Wii’s sold out quicker than PS3s though. Talking with a few friends that still work at EB-Stop, when they received Wii’s they would sell out almost immediately. The PS3s would take them a day or 2 before going through the few they got in. In general, there is more demand for the Wii than the PS3. ---

and in all honesty the PS3 isn’t really a competitor w/ the wii. The competition is PS3 vs 360 I have a PS3, I’ve owned a 360 and I’ll buy a wii…I won’t buy any games for the wii though, all I want it for is wii sports. The only games I would buy are more advanced versions of tennis, baseball, etc… ---

obviously the COST alone has alot to do with the demand. many parents just can’t afford to blow 600-700 on a PS3 system, when they can get their kid(s) a different unique system for 1/2 the price. joe, u have to buy zelda for the wii… its the game the system was made for. lol i do agree, they did a phenomenal job w/ the sports games though. ---

Yeah wii sports is assloads of fun but zelda is such a great goddamn game and im not even to the second dungeon yet. ---

Wii’s sell out in stores faster right now because stores actually advertise them. When was the last time you saw a weekly ad with a PS3 in it? Yeah, just before the launch. They haven’t mentioned it since because the supplies are so limited. These “stats” are pointless until both consoles get enough inventory that they are readily available. ---
