# Wiring 90 s13  HUD Speedo to SR

ive googled, ive searched (seems to be something funky with son’s search feature)  
cannot find a legit answer… Basically everything else works, tach, lights, temp, just no speed…  
Car is a 1990 s13 coupe that came with the hud.  
anyone?

nothin special should be required

its likely a problem with the digital display itself

im guessing when you say HUD you mean both the actual hud and the digital display on the cluster itself

I thought 89-90 SOHC cluster’s don’t work with Dual Cam motors? From what i’ve read/heard/seen, you should swap in a Dual Cam cluster, should fix the issue. If not, then you should replace you speed sensor/check the harness.

Yesh, I’ve gathered the same thing… Apparently I need a hud cluster out of a 91 and up… The hud worked before the swap, if anyone knows a way around this, please chime in…

the sohc/dohc distinction is for the tach

the tachs do not interchange

the speed shouldn’t be affected, since the speed signal travels first from the speed sensor to the cluster, and then from the cluster to the ecu

obviously the easiest troubleshooting method is to swap in another cluster and see if the speedo works on it

mind you if you are planning on using an analog cluster, you will need the analog sub-harness too
