how far down ya’lls think the market goes if the Fed goes another 100 basis points over the next 3 meetings? Canada’s fed held today and our dollar is shitting off next to yours. another full point on interest has to bring the housing market back at least another 10% over the course of the year. no? ---

I have no idea how the economy works but defaults for mortgages and repos far cars are climbing fast. We handed out trillions of dollars during Covid in the form of relief checks (most people I know spent the money on frivolous things like alcohol, drugs, etc) Our debt is out the fucking ass Student Loans are out of fucking control, and the majority of the people with them did not get a degree that’s worth enough to pay them back 12 eggs are fucking 5$ I don’t know when it’s going to happen but we have to pay this money back. I remember people who make $700 a week take home high fiving each other they were getting 12-1500 during Covid for doing nothing but sitting at home and jerking off. These people think that money was free. I got a lot of cash just waiting to scoop up some really nice shit when the time comes The fed needs to grow some balls and put this economy in a down turn. We are kicking the can down the road every day. ---

agreed. but even if prices come down, interest rates going up keeps the costs high unless you’re a full cash buyer. worse still for me if the CAD getting raped with the interest rate differential. seems like very little has been coming on the market in WNY in the last few weeks. looking forward to spring though. ---

The other side of interest rates climbing is it locks some people in their current home. Tough to sell your house and give up your current 2.5-4% mortgage to buy a bigger place on a 7+% mortgage. ---

Rents seem to be really high these days. Our former babysitter is renting out a house she bought 2-3 years back for $1,800/mo. I hope this trend continues as I’m going to rent out my dads house after some cleanup and I’m trying to buy another “as is”- but it needs a lot more work. I wanna be like @91MR2 😃 ---

I bet you could make bank renting that out as an airbnb if it were in a little better location, like walking distance to the good section of Hertel, Elmwood or downtown. Where it is in Blackrock there isn’t really much in walking distance, and the type of renter that would jizz about staying in a shipping container home is going to want to walk everywhere. ---

lol. I do want a shipping container house, but in the woods somewhere. Preferably an off grid style setup. Used containers should only run 5-6k delivered.
