10:30 Drivers meeting. Goof off talking to your buddies but don’t listen
11:00 First run, refuse an instrutor because you’re too cool. Go through 2 gates, go off course, get so lost you actually stop mid course and ask a course worker for directions.
11:02:30 Finish first run.
11:02:32 Safety steward finds you, explains that your next run WILL be with an instructor, sends you to get work assignment
11:10 Person you’re working with is laughing about “the guy who got lost and asked for directions”, not knowing it was you. Hey, everyone looks the same with a helmet.
12:00 2nd run, this time with an instructor, much more fun. You realize you do need to listen to the old pro’s and actually walk the course. You have much more fun at your next event, but you had to get up earlier. 🙂

I don’t know, but I will never forget seeing a car stop on course and ask for directions. The parts I know for a fact are true are
1. First timer.
2. Refused an instructor.
3. Did zero course walks.
4. Did get better later in the day.
The rest I either assumed or made up for comic purposes.

I stopped for directions once at an MBR event - I couldn’t remember if I was supposed to be on the right or left of the green cones…

You know… I might be, but this Sunday is so busy, move the gf back to school, fantasy draft #2, and then a co-workers party, sigh… I need to put the gc to work one of these days.
