Are you KIDDING me right know I just got done reinstalling a 04 Cobra IRS in my GT after throwing that piece of shit Solid axle in the dumpster. If I keep the car it will make serious power. It is being built for 800+ since day 1. The IRS will hold that with ease and hook, and corner, and be comfy. I would like to see what a chassis without the reinforced lower control arm pickups (240sx) for a solid axle will do when you launch it with some torque/slicks. Mustangs that were BUILT with a solid axle in mind tend to rip the reinforced torque boxes out… I am interested to see what that 240 will do… since I know nothing about putting power down. ---

Dont use the upper control arm pickup points on the solid… geometry is a joke ---

becuase it was $600 and it doesnt weigh much it was originaly supposed to be a driver, but the engine turned out to be on the way out when i bought it, so if i gotta swap it i might as well have some fun in the process ---

You dont want to do a SR or RB swap and go nuts? I figured the price was right. 🙂 Just consider how much weight this extra steel and parts will add… and what the swaps will cost you versus getting a Fox body or something already setup for what you want. What motor are you thinking? ---

the basic car isnt worth doing a sr or rb swap to, if i did that id want to get the thing spotlessly clean im using an engine i got for free, 3.0 yamaha out of a taurus sho. and im going to boost the fuck out of it (intercooled and meth injected) ---

the wiring needed on the chassis side of things is simple, this is a tibit from a ka24e-to-ka24de swap write up: > Wiring: > > 1. Locate the body harness (under dash harness that attached to the ECU) that attached to your old harness. Cut the old connector off (the one that attached to your SOHC harness) and attach your DOHC body harness connector. Just match the colors! > Yellow/Red --Tach > Yellow/Green–Speedometer > Orange–Ignition start > Black—Ground > Blue/Black—Water temp sensor > > There will be some wires left over. These are for the SOHC’s diagnostic plug, and are unnecessary so after i hook up the needed items out of that list …and figure out something for the tach and speedo … all i have to do is take care of any extra wiring the sho ECU needs simple 🙂 ---
