He was at 6000 feet pretty quickly. I suspect he deployed on time, but actually had a shorter freefall because of his higher initial speed. ---

yeah that was pretty intense. if he had of free falled (is it falled in this case?) for another 18 seconds he would have had the record but might have died too 🙂 he broke the speed record (hitting the sound barrier) and the higher jump and one other record.
