# Worm? Virus? Dr Dos or anyone...

rundll.exe **Process Name:** Microsoft RunDLL **[Run a Free System Scan for rundll.exe Related Errors](http://www.liutilities.com/products/campaigns/plib/rbplib/6/)**  
 **Description:** rundll.exe is a Windows System process belonging to the Windows 95, 98 and ME range of Microsoft Windows products. This is an important system process and should not be terminated.

**Note** : rundll.exe is a process registered as a backdoor vulnerability which may be installed for malicious purposes by an attacker allowing access to your computer from remote locations, stealing passwords, Internet banking and personal data. If unaccounted for, this process should be removed immediately.

**Note** : rundll.exe could also be a process which belongs to the . This program is a non-essential process, but should not be terminated unless suspected to be causing problems.

Determining whether this process is a virus or a legitimate Windows process depends on the directory location it executes or runs from in WinTasks.

thats kind of general answer so don’t get worked up about it… its not good to say the least

also look at your process list and see if its there and what kind of ram its usiing up and what percentage of the cpu its using

So what could I kill and how do I get rid of it then?

you could always try and restore ur computer to an earlier date
