My point exactly. Dave doesnt play. Be cool and hes with ya. Be not cool, and he’ll do what anyone in his position does… exactly what he wants to.
Thats a good position to be in tho.
So is over $200,000 k a month in membership dues! He did work for it.

^ in my opinion it is true.
That gym didnt work for me, and the circumstances surrounding the cancelling of my membership were handled very poorly. Dave Leon was an asshole to me and it was completely uncalled for. I take lifting pretty seriously, and for that reason im no longer permitted in their gym.

I take lifting more serious then you and anyone you know and I workout there…

Yeh it’s really a decent place. Just go there, do your thing, and leave. If you don’t give them a problem you won’t have any. I’ve been going for years.

There is a colonie PF? where is that? assuming the OP is not talking about loundvile because he referenced that one as well.
PF is the worst fuckin gym i’ve ever been too. At least the EG and loundvile ones are. I will say they seem to get slightly more good looking chicks then its been my experince to see in gyms.
THis is the case for 2 reasons:
1. the free weights really do suck. the 75 lbs dumbells is an issue, but I usually do some heavy barbell work prior and that sort of solves that, sort of. They are just missing a few things here and there that drive me nuts, like no squat rack, no extra olympic bars, hell at the loundvile one they don’t even have any curl bars that you can put what ever weight you want on, just dumbell style ones you can’t adjust. 9 times out of ten i don’t have an issue, but for the amount of money they pull in at those places, they could afford and have (or had) room for an extra couple of bars/benches. its an equipment availablity thing.
2. The staff is rediculously piss poor. There was a manager at loundonvile when i first signed up several years ago that was pretty good, took his job seriously… thin bald guy. Pretty much everybody else there i’ve meet is either just out of highschool (nothing wrong with that really) or seems like the type that can’t really handle any other job. Sort of the same vibe i get from car sales men… this is just where they end up after a long train of failure. And i’ve heard several stories of them ‘banning’ people willy nilly for this or that reason that was really a personal issue.
that being said, when i signed up at the loundville one, i do remember them saying something about needing my tag with me (this was several years ago). They said something like they would only look me up by name so many times before they refused entrance. I admit… thats really a really rediculous policy, and I’ve forgoten my tag like every time i ride my bike to the EG one and its never been an issue. On the other had i don’t see why a key chain tag is such a hassle to you, but i’m sure its more the principle more then anything else.
I only go to PF because its really the only gym in EG other then the way over priced YMCA.
I would have had the managers job immediately after he called me a dick, thats totally unprofessional but not surprising since unprofessional is what i’ve come to expect from thier staff.

oh, i also picked up on the fact that the ‘judgement free zone’ only applies in one direction.
personally i’ve never understood why different body types or work out ‘styles’ make people so uncomfortable about going to a gym.

i think people work out at their own pace and for themselves not to impress others at the gym. im just trying to get in better shape and slim down a bit so i dont really care what the big guys are doing nor do i care what the smaller guys are doing.
as for tonight everything went fine, i walked in and the asst manager asked if i had my id tag again and again i said nope my member number is such and such and he signed me in and said well at least you know your number and your making the effort. i went about my workout as before not bothering anyone and just doing my own thing
all in all everything went fine and i dont care to push the issue but i feel it stupid to have gone to that level and the unprofessionalness \<( not sure if real word )from a manager none the less.

i think a nice finishing touch would be to work some version of the phrase ‘you’re a dick’ into conversation with this pain in the ass ‘manager’.

i agree, I think its funny that Damir makes em work a little harder but I like to just scan in and go without talking to anyone.
