The girl didnt want to take your name or she wanted to hyphenate it. I say no its disrespectful and personally I wouldnt get married to her. ---

It wouldnt matter to me, but if we had kids thats a different situation. The kids last name would be all mine. No Hyphenated crap. ---

i would take the last name of whom ever i marry and my kids would have his last name as well…but i dont really think that should be thing that stops you from getting married to someone. But if it is then there are some problems. ---

I agree with that… BUT For me I think it would depend if I or him were the only child needing to carry on the last name… I have 2 older brothers and to give up my long ass last name will be a god send, Move my kids up in the alphebet and won’t take them long to bubble in there tests … Don’t get me wrong I joke all the time about -'ing my name with my mans because it would just be rediculously long and complicated… Bottom line - I’m taking my mans last name… ---

i work for a bunch that keep their oem names… it happens… usually they are 35+ year olds that do so for name recognition… the other are snobby tight ass bitches trying to be difficult. i say, if you can’t get hits on google with her madien name, it’s all bullshit. 🙂 ---

lol… I wouldn’t mind keeping my last name- I’ve always been fond of it… its fun and different. However, if my husband was like ‘no last name no marriage’ I would re-think the situation I’m in. He should love me- not his own last name. Thats bullshit. On the other hand, I personally don’t care if I keep my last name or take his. If anything I would do what a couple of my family members did, Make their last name the middle name/initial… That way there is no hyphen and the kids get the dad’s last name. ---

I may consider keeping my own. my wife is an only child and her father was also an only child… hence the name is dead. when we first met she wanted to keep her name, but quickly realized that keeping your name is like keeping your man’s nuts in a jar :down: so… when we got married, she legally changed her middle name, to her former last name. my grandparents did the same with my father… and it became a family name (dad, brother, and cousin)… the same will happen with my wife. her middle name will become a family name now, but never hyphenated… never the last name. ---
