has anyone driven the newer and older models? my frind said the 04s drive exactly the same so i was thinking of going and test driving one to see whats its like from the drivers seat

Thats probably close to the truth. In any case you will want to switch out the tranny/engine mounts. Minor mods make a huge difference in that car.

Timing belt should be done at 60k.
If it is modded, ask if the clutch has been replaced that will save you money, and check for a grind between 1st and 2nd.
Up-pipe gaskets like to leak, usually only if it has been removed once, but they will leak and even if it is stock someone could have been in there and removed it to do a warranty repair of some sort.
Alot is available for the car in terms of modding,
Motor mounts make a world of difference.
If you do buy one and need any work done, come see us, we have worked on tons of them and know them inside and out. π
