So a long time ago in the summer of oh-eight, back when I owned my WRX. I was driving back home having a nice leisurely drive along a river just minding my own business taking in a beautiful Buffalo summer day. It’s a most fantastic day out, perfect for open window weather. The sun was shining glistening off of the water. A steady breeze from the open windows muffling the world around me.
When along comes these kiddies in their white Nazi-Edition Mk. IV Jetta. They decide to start pacing me, showing off their fancy car yelling something about how they love my license plate of +1 to nerdiness. But also tossing some revs my way. It’s been awhile since I’ve had a bit of fun so I give a thumbs up, we are doing about 40ish I leave it in 3rd thinking it will be a cake 2.0 or some other weak N/A crap not hearing anything.
But the cake was soon stolen from me as 3 beeps later, as it was indeed a lie. It turned out to be one of those sneaky 1.8t HAND OF FUCKING GOD VWs. needless to say I heard what sounds to be a bov because it’s like BEST MOD EVER MAN, and they pull a car or two on me. At this point I’m like great, way to add to their ego. But as a wise man did say “You chase, you race” a loss to me indeed.
So I decide to have another go to show them what the high-mileage boxer could do. I put it in second, and get the speed down to a lower 30 or so MPH the perfect speed. Roads are nice and clear, still a fantastic view out. 3 beeps later hell is unleashed on the “coastal” area. Both our cars screaming along a river front shattering the peace and serenity of the scene. This time the outcome going the other way with me pulling a couple of cars.
At which point some more thumbs up were tossed and we went our own ways. No drama, no bs, just a nice friendly run,

Wrx’s are alot faster than 1.8t’s especially stock for stock.
