# WTB: 08+ Impreza / WRX Steering wheel airbag

in my car accidents the air bag fucked me up more than helping me.

i thought people keep airbags for legal reasons not safety. safety is what you mentioned… roll cage, harness, proper seats etc. a air bag is not on the check list at any racing event ive been to. some make you remove them.

theres a bunch of warnings associated with air bags. seems like a bunch of danger associated with air bags that should make you safer.

to me a air bag is a gimmick. but a dangerous one at that. i have heard of accidents happening because of a air bag. there are millions of cars that were recalled because of faulty bags.

a air bag on a plane is available if you fly first class buts its not in the cheaper section… maybe that helps marketing? maybe it makes you safer? maybe it makes you feel safer so your more likely to take the expensive section?

if people feel safer in the car with options to protect them they are more likely to buy. but does it really protect you??
