# WTB: 97-99 porsche boxster with blown motor

I am looking for a porsche boxster on the cheap.
Interior and exterior condition or trim is not important.
Model year 97,98, or 99 with a manual transmission is very important.
I would be happy to find one with a blown motor or gearbox, but would look at any cheap boxster.
Yes I realize this is a longshot on a local forum, thanks for your help in advance.

The car will be built for spec boxster (now sanctioned by PCA and NASA). The motor has to stick to factory 2.5L specs.

Excellent. SPB lap records are as follows: 2:17 @ VIR, 2:15 @ WGI (do the quick math on those two), 1:31 @ Summit, 1:02 @ LRP, etc. And they all think they are super fast and therefore must be destroyed.

We will be speaking more in depth about both of these issues. Supposedly the 99 is much more likely to de-chunk due to an error in the actual casting machine. Porsche knew about it, but had to keep producing boxsters due to demand while they waited for a new casting machine to be built. Or so I’m told by some Porsche tech’s at work.
