# WTB: Car with 35+ mpg

Ok looking to pick up a vehicle that is capable of 35+ mpg.
A few that spring to mind are:
Honda CRX
Honda Civic
Geo/Chevy Metro
Vehicle doesn’t matter. Only condition that matters is the gas mileage & a semi clean interior. Exterior can be rotted to shit for all I care.
It does have to be turn key. I don’t want to purchase something that requires a load of parts before being driveable.
Oh yeah also under $1000.
Anybody have anything?

i used to have an 81 honda prelude that i rattle canned maroon. i got about 32/38 mpg city/hwy… i LOVED that car… some people here might remember it. if you could find one of these, it would be perfect. however, they arent very common…

there’s a CRX for sale in another thread that seems a pretty good deal.
EF civics/crx’s are the way to go for cheap and amazing MPG, smart move :tup:

you should be real careful because anything under $1000 bucks is probably going to be a POS cosmetically at least. As for the Chevy Metro, check the gaskets and seals for leaks specifically the rear main and the head gaskets. they tend to leak. otherwise they are a decent car and get great gas mileage. I wish I could help but everything I get for that price is junk, good luck with the search. if you have any questions don’t be afraid to ask.

i have a 1991 Tercel Sedan that might fit your need. $900. search the forum i have it posted. it gets about 37mpg.

my uncle is putting his 97
EK hatch up for sale for $2000 in the next few weeks. body is VERY fair, and he just did some serious maintenance…new gas tank and lines all the way through and whatnot, hes going to email me more specifics soon.

hey man, i have a 2000 kia sephia that a guy may have stiffed me on i will let ya know. it looks like hell but runs great and get like 35mpg
