D17’s are fail. Make it work with a D16Y8 out of a 96-00 EX (also a shitload more common, and easier/cheaper to get parts for).

Unless you are dropping a motor in the car with the intention of selling it fast, in which case do whatever’s cheapest. Fuck 7th generation civics.

Sorry, I have a deep-seeded hatred of those cars. Had to work on them way too often (and usually the same ones too).
