I don’t think they sell whole T56s anymore but they do a great rebuild service.

Your best bet is on LS1Tech, once in a while you will see one pop up with vague history for what you’re looking to pay. So tack on a rebuild on top if you want a trouble free unit

This.  
I caved and bought one cheap with known issues. Figured it was better than paying for a “good” one.

Well then you gotta do a rebuild to have peace of mind, so back to the old adage: pay me now or pay me later

I personally would buy a shit one and have it rebuilt, at least you know what is really going on inside. Unlike a “good” unit, which might still have mysteries on the inside.
