reliable and domestic don’t belong next to each other in the $2500 and under price range… unless the words before it are " there is no such thing as a … reliable domestic "

i’m posting up my Thunderbird for sale. it’s slightly above your price range but for the extra money you’d be way above the crappy subcompart segment. PM me if you are interested. good luck shopping!

4 banger cavaliers are a dime a dozen and can get decent gas mileage. Reliability would depend on how well it was taken care of. And parts are cheap.

DOHC 5 speed should do 32-35mph and a SOHC 5 speed would be 40+. Both can run 14s NA with very few mods and get as good or better gas mileage than stock.

geo prizms were essentially rebadged toyota corolla. (read: not a domestic)

edit: that said, they are awesome (reliable, not fun) cars. i would recommend buying one.
