# WTB: s10 2.2 liter motor ASAP

my engine shit the bed tonight…i need a replacement engine ASAP and as cheap as possible. if anyone has one please let me know.

Did you check M&M by chance? Usually they have quite a few trucks laying around, would probably cost around 200.

two weeks ago there was a brand new ecotech in there with like 35K on it and its almost a direct swap from what i hear you ust need pcm n such, but if you want a basic 2.2L theres only about hmm 30 in the junkyard you better get down there quick before everyone snags them XD

ecotech = FWD
s10 2.2 = RWD
not even a direct swap

was it a OHV 2.2?
OHV 2.2 = s10 and pre ectotec cavaliers
ECOTEC MOTORS WILL NOT FIT IN THESE FUCKING TRUCKS THERE ARE NO BOSSES FOR RWD MOUNTS ON ECOTEC BLOCKS THAT WILL FIT S10 2.2 MOUNTS.

i called every junkyard in the area, no one has any left. I dont want an M&M motor cuase its not garunteed to run and i cant gamble away $200 here

you mean to buy a whole truck?
only way i would do that is if the truck was blasted in an accident and i was buying it for the drivetrain…i have a fairly low mileage rebuilt transmission and everything.
it was so damn cold that at 65 on the thruway the radiator froze over and thats what caused the failure.

too much water in there? thats the only way thats happening. what exactly broke on the motor?

the pistons have siezed…i felt the hoses after about an hour and they were solid. and there is no way there was too much water, i didnt even go 50/50…it was like 70% antifreze
