My neighbor has had a hell of a time trying to make is e-machine a little faster. (1ghz celeron) i’m looking for a p4 box with XP on it. it must be cheap. like really cheap. if anyone has something like that laying around… let me know. i’d rather he not buy one off ebay that i will have to fix anyway. ---

a bit ot, but what is he doing with the 1ghz? I’ll take the mobo/processor if he wants to sell it ---

I have a bunch of P4 boards, not sure if they are working or not; I dont have time to test them… or are you looking for a whole set up ---

i have a 1.6 P4 chip, no working board though ☹ i’d sell the chip, or buy a new board either or ---

i was hoping to find a plug and play box. just install his software. otherwise i would have to worry about getting ram, p.s etc… i dont have time to really do anything special, and he does not have the ability. ---

What kind of board does he have? They made P3’s up to 1.4ghz and that would provide a nice boost over the celeron. ---

this is NYspeed… that means i would be happy to take one off your hands if you paid me… seriously though, i dont have a price range. i’m just looking to see whats out there so i can relay the info. even a P3 would be a good improvement over teh celeron. he has 512 megs of pc133 he cant use at the moment… (stupid emachine - grrr) ---

Does he have an XP sticker/key? Home or Pro? I think I have a pentium 4 1.6 with 768MB DDR at home. I’d install windows on it with his key. Or, I think I even have a pentium 3 933 too. Shoot me a PM. Tell me what you’d like to pay and let me know about that key so I know what windows to install. I have both Home and Pro CDs ---

Any time I sell a computer (outside work), I get them a 3 year warranty so I don’t have to deal with the bs hardware issues. ---
