It’s the holiday travel season and the state is massively in debt trying to generate tax payer dollars in other ways than just taxes. Odds are the increased police presence will be here for quite some time, until the states economy is reasonably straightened out at least.

it’s downstate as well…coming home from new paltz to go to kingston (one exit) 4 troopers had cars pulled over on my side alone…fucking ridiculous…

It doesnt have so much to do with money as it does with the time of year. From Thanksgiving to New Years people are traveling…alot, and they step-up the police prescence. Also people, much like myself are getting drunk during this season, yet another reason to have more bodies out there watching out. Its more a safety thing, but of course additional revenue isnt a bad thing…
