# WTF Nikon battery !!!!!!

I picked up the D40 today, turned it on and I got nothing, not surprising since its been sitting for 2 weeks and the battery was pretty much drained then, but now it wont take a change, not at all, light on the charger wont even come on. anyone ever have this happen to them, is the battery toast ? fuck I only got the thing in july.

If it’s still within the 1 year, it should be covered under Nikon’s warranty. But you’ll have to ship it to them.

Yeah that sux ass, Im gonna take it to delaware cam tommorow, I may just buy another one anyway, i cant afford to not have it on the 27th

can i ask how much you paid for the D40? theres one that looks practically new at the pawn shop here in cleveland for $90. im really really thinking about it

Thats insanely cheap…
OP: Sometimes when those batts get too low, they dont take a charge off thier charger. If you put say 12v on the battery for a few seconds to jump it, you should be able to get it to charge. Just make sure you dont reverse the polarity.
