Ive seen conflicting answers. Is it possible for me to play an dvdrip on an xbox? Maybe put it on a USB stick and install it on the hard drive? Or is there a program to stream movies like this. I want to watch movies in surround sound.

yeah, you can play “DVD backups” on it fine (haven’t had an issue yet anyway)

You can’t do it via memory stick though afaik, but you can stream movies from your computer to your 360 with media center if you have it. If not you can use something like tversity to do the same thing
