JEG, you and the others like you who wish to stop science in its tracks because you feel God has deemed the use of something wrong remind me of the man by the river He heard a radio report that the river was going to rush up and flood the town. And that all the residents should evacuate their homes. But the man said, “I’m religious. I pray. God loves me. God will save me.” The waters rose up. A guy in a row boat came along and he shouted, “Hey, hey you! You in there. The town is flooding. Let me take you to safety.” But the man shouted back, “I’m religious. I pray. God loves me. God will save me.” A helicopter was hovering overhead. And a guy with a megaphone shouted, “Hey you, you down there. The town is flooding. Let me drop this ladder and I’ll take you to safety.” But the man shouted back that he was religious, that he prayed, that God loved him and that God will take him to safety. Well… the man drowned. And standing at the gates of St. Peter, he demanded an audience with God. “Lord,” he said, “I’m a religious man, I pray. I thought you loved me. Why did this happen?” God said, “I sent you a radio report, a helicopter, and a guy in a rowboat. What the hell are you doing here?” Maybe God gives us these scientific breakthroughs so we can use what would otherwise be destroyed in order to save the lives of the living. ---

All I know is that my mother has MS and stem cell research could probably lead to a cure. While most of you here bicker about whether its morally right or not I could care less. This shit could save my mother, and everyday this asshole keeps this country from finding a cure is another day lost to my mom. ---

I am NOT against science! I am very interested in science. There are just certain things I disagree with. Why you think I am some radical religous wacko I dont know, but I am not. If I was I would not smoke cigars, drink and swear. Yes I believe in god. so what. I am not against science as far as medical advancement. I am an EMT, I see all sorts of people with medical problems every day. I just do not agree with the use of human embryos for such advances. I understand that there are massive benefits to it, and I am quite conflicted. because yes, I think its wrong, but I have to really ask myself “do the ends justify the means”? I lean towards no, but I am not sure. The amount of good it can do is awsome, but it goes against what I believe. I believe life is sacred and not to be taken lightly or wasted. Hence the moral delema. it really depends on where you believe life begins. Does that help at all? a little more in depth perception of my views. ---
