The only thing wheel locks do is make it a pain in the ass anytime you want to do something on your own car. Any decent thief will get them off as quickly as regular lugs. Sucks about the loss, hopefully your insurance company doesn’t suck. ---

well the ins co says that without an umbrella policy they will only cover up 1000.00 for anything aftermarket on the car. oem rims new from the dealer are like 700.00 each plus tires and tpms sensors… ---

After reading this thread I got paranoid and called my insurance company to make sure I was covered by this type of thing. According to what my claims dept told me, I would provide them with the quote for a new stock set from the dealer, and they would reimburse according to that. Granted, that story could change if I ever needed to actually put in a claim. ---

Mabey if they have the insurance photos with aftermarket rims. If they even look back at those pictures after signing off on them. Then it would still take a semi-“enthusiast” to even give a damn that they are aftermarket. But it seems to me like he got the rims after he got the car. Seems to me the OP already screwed up and told the insurance they were aftermarket. Now they’ll use that against him, their loophole to save a few thousand dollars. Like I said, play dumb. Basically call and say “wheels gone”, “nissan 350z”, “help”… ---
