By the way, even if you are yards away so that you can get out of the way, a car moving at 40 mph will cover 10 yards in just over half a second so you had better hope you’re Bruce Lee or Yoda or something should you need to put your plan into action.

But the ladder would work as well. Stand on a ladder the size of the cars and when hit, I jump over the car. hell its safer than riding a bike at a moving car. lol

I just don’t know how ANYONE can make this big of a deal over some pictures. I mean, seriously. It’s not as if a million and one pictures of cars drifting don’t already exist all over the internet.

when jack was going onto the track to set up his stuff even though everyone was aware of what was happening there were amateur drifters still going out on the track and attempting to slide it as though he was out there and the one kid went onto the lawn a bit, it took someone to block the entrance with another car to stop anyone else from entering
perfect example of the difference between an amateur drifter not paying attention to surroundings and a pro drifter (chris) who was out there with jack and knew of all the surroundings and what was going on

SOoo… you are saying this guy was setting up his ramp while people were drifting. looking at the photos of where the ramp was setup, it looks like he was closer to the track than I would have ever though of being. So while setting up the ramp, clearly he wasnt even pay attention to the cars and he was paying attention to setting up his own thing. Along with that you guys all said he was only out there with professionals… so he was out on the track with amateurs. LOL Anything else being left out?

for one, if you had to spend anything more than the domain name and first month of hosting you are doing it wrong, i never pulled a cent out of my money to run a forum, and to top it off we made money on it. didn’t get rich off it, but hell if i was going to pay to run a free forum lol
your forum is a business right? its not a charity or is it? dont whine to me about putting your money into something, thats your choice…

As much as I don’t want to get into this debate
Way to many CAR threads are derailed by people who don’t own cars or have anything to do with them.
People can ruin OT threads and whatever but ruining meet threads you didn’t even goto or build threads is lame and people should be banned or at least banned to OT only.

Yes I have, a few… reasons I dont care to show up half the time is due to the types of people that always show up. You have a few I can get along with and talk to, but then you have those that have a mind made up about you even before knowing who you are on here or what your even about in person. They have that I’m better than you mentality. I dont care for that. I love cars, grew up around them and feel you shouldnt disrespect people for showing up and making an event bigger. We are all on here for the sole purpose of cars, but when you have to be a dick to someone because you dont like them before meeting them in person. It just turns me away from wanting to show up… to just stand around and get looks from people like why the fuck did you even bother coming.

Actually, I have talked to Josh in person a few times. One of which was about this event at the tea leaf meet which I’ve gone to a few.
edit: And I am a very outgoing person, so I do try to walk up and say hi to different people and start a convo. You get to many bad vibs from people when you are at these meets because well you arent good enough for them. which is pathetic. My opinion… noone is better than any for any reason. Its a personality, everyone has their own. But again, we are all here for cars/automotive. thats all that should matter.

This is true. Yam came up and said hi to me at a meet before. Then he recently called me a pussy for not kicking his ass or something like that :lol:
What has happened is that Cliques have formed because so many people have known each other for so long. Some people come out to meets just to see certain people. IE last Dunn tire event I brought my baby so that Andrea could meet her. I am sure that is the primary reason she was there. We are hoping with having more and more events to get back to how things were in the past. The cliques exist but there is more of a mingle and chat feel.

Not in the least bit. Not a lot of members on here know me in person. Those that do, dont have a problem with me and generally dont say anything on here negative towards me at all. Its the flaming towards all other members on here thats annoying and not needed. A new member can show up and be gone in a week the way half the crowd is on here. Dont give a shit about the person trying to be a part of the automotive community and instead just flame on them because of the car they have or just because noone has a clue who the person is. I get PM’s from people telling me the same thing.

I’m gonna back yambag up on this one. I’ve encountered a lot of what he mentioned. I went to a few events/meets, went out of my way to talk to a bunch of people and met a few cool people because of it.
However, I found that there were a lot of people who just acted like complete dicks. I also heard after the fact that a lot of shit was talked. Why the hell would I wanna come out and deal with people that are often times older than me but have the maturity level of a 15 year old? Fuck that I’d rather hang out with my real friends.
That’s all I’m gonna say I’m not trying to get drawn into this shit, I just wanted to back yambag up so it didn’t look like he was ranting by himself.
