now I will chim in. So me taking pictures of a car drifting from an x amount away is less safe than a guy jumping a drifting car.
I’d be moving away from the car, not putting my body in harm going at it. So as for all you guys saying you dont want someone taking pictures while drifting because its dangerous and you dont want to put a stop to the day… You all can fuck yourselves, because you are all hypocrites.

After seeing that, I would agree with Yambag… I’m not saying that either one is a GOOD idea. However, the bike stunt was way more dangerous.

That photo was taken in a “controlled” state. Very different from hanging out in the oval all afternoon…:shrug:
BTW, dozens of times cars wound up in the grass and a few also nose dived into the apex.

Well you said it. EMT’s were there the whole time. so they were ready if I was taking photos… lol
Also regardless of how good “Professional” your driver is… people are not perfect and mistakes happen. You cant even argue this. This is going against everything you were saying. This is nowhere at all safer than someone standing on the side in the lawn. The bike is heading right at the car. How about if a chain pops or shoe lace gets stuck in the sprocket. (dont tell me it cant happen) It happens all the time. You are putting more risk in this than me standing there taking a photo. Hypocrite is all I can say. Because he knows you guys better and is in with you guys… its cool to let him do it. You have no fight on this.

and from the videos i saw there was only one car in a turn at a time, one to watch for, one to keep your eye on. save the one tandem drift that i saw…

Sorry man, noone is perfect. how about the stunt devil that just feel from the plane. That was a controlled situation. lol It was perfectly safe… been done several times before. Oh wait, this was never done before. fucking ridiculous. You have no fight. This is a stunt never done by these 2 people… usually stunts take practice and time to get down. Usually when done in a rush… problems occur but who am I to say that.

the people who were drifting went off the road a few times, would you have gotten hit? probably not.

The odds of you getting hit while trying to take pictures by any of the n00b drivers who were out there hot lapping the track \>\>\>\>\>\>\>\>\>\> the odds of anyone coming into contact with each other on a closed track with 1 professional driver.
Not to mention the stunt was coreographed before we went out on track.

ummmm nope. It was the point of the argument. It wasnt the fact they didnt want me out there… that wasnt the argument, it was the fact that it wasnt safe. Neither was this.

I must say that I lol’d when I saw that picture and was awaiting your response. Wish I could have made it to this. Stupid brother in law and his birthday getting in the way.

They clearly didnt want you out there, and by saying it wasn’t safe is the reason. Im sure what is being said in fight club is “yambag fucking sucks at taking pictures, but obv we would look bad if we said that. So we’re just going to say it is way too unsafe. We’ll come up with a bunch of reasons justifying it. Hopefully he doesnt see the footage of our photographers in the same spot though, or when we film a bike jumping over a car.”
And the professional drivers did go off the road like 4 times, not sure if you saw that. so putting all of your faith in tires that are worn to fuck, a car, and a driver who makes errors isn’t really smart.
But there wasn’t really anything good going on to take pictures of lol. You were prob better off just staying in the parking lot, or the spot where the videos in the other thread were taken.
also, didnt the rider get hurt?
edit: Not sure if he followed the course that they were doing all day, but if he came from the 1/8 mile part or where the cleanup crew was then it eliminates part of the danger. but he’s still falling from the sky at like 12ft lol
