Ok so many people have varying opinions of what to get at any one time, so lets make a thread of what do you actually use what you recomend and this way people will know if they should take your word on what you recomend
Mine: Basic 2.0 Home Stereo Setup, expandable if I chose to at a later time and date, but I dont have the money to do what I want
TV: Hitatchi 42HDX99 42" plasma
Scources: Pioneer Elite Universal Player DV-79AVi
shitty cable box, 8300 HD
XBOX 360
PS2 with psyclone component kit
Amplifacation: Krell Integrated KAV-300i, late model (Not that anyone here will know the difference between the late and the early models)
Speakers: B&W 602.5 (really need to upgrade)

that was pre shorter cables, everything that is showing is the long “stock” cables that come with things, Its really hard to hide 9’ of powercord when you need about 3’ of it. Hence I upgraded to better cables

lol dude ur cabling sucks ass, all that nice stuff and its a rats nest back there 😛
Ok here goes.
TV
Dell 50’ Plasma
Xbox 360
DTV mpeg 4 HD Dtv Tivo box, dual tuners
DTV Tivo 500 gig normal.
Equipment
Onkyo TX-SR703 Reciever
JVC Upscaling DVD player, cant remember model off hand, but im buying a denon or onkyo soon, as the scaler on the JVC sucks balls.
Audioquest cabling.
No amp, im just using the recievers built in amp, onkyo is usually really clean anyways.
Speakers:
All B&W
DS6 S3 Surrounds
DM602 S3 Mains
ASW 600 Sub
LCR60 S3 Center.
All are timbre matched to each other.
I have more money in my speakers than anything else 🙂
Im still on 5.1 as i need to get some rear surrounds some day.
I do need to upgrade my cables tho, as they are older audioquests, but to me they still sound great.

CATV with the normal Scientific Altanta box
Sound:
Vintage Sansui AU-9500 Stereo amplifier
Cheap Wal-mart 12 guage copper wire all the way around
Old wooden Realistic, and Pioneer speaker cabinets. One of which still has as set of 4" Honeycomb Disc speakers.
In bad need of some up to date speakers cabinet wiring for the setup, it doesn’t do justice to the amp.

just finished my new setup (pics coming!)
Sanyo 30" widescrean flat screan HDTV with built in HD Tuner
Sony Home Theater ‘in a box’ (4 satelite speakers, center channel, sub… nothing special)
Sony DVD player
PS2 (slim)
DVD video signal run though Monster Cable Component Video cable
DVD sound run though Monster Fiber-optic cable
TV audio run though Monster Fiber-optic
Speakers run off of Monster Cable speaker wire
im going to upgrade at least my reciever sometime soon, and then start upgrading the speakers.

Wow, some of you guys have some real nice stuff. I dont have a HT but my bedroom stereo is:
B&K PT3 SeriesII Stereo Pre-amp
B&K ST55.2 Amp
Adire Audio Kit 51’s
Audioquest Copperheads (pre–\>amp)
Zu Cale Pivot (computer --\> pre)
Kimber Kable 4VS speaker cable
Nothing crazy, gets the job done. I plan on upgrading once I get some room to work with. I’m also planning on building a 10 watt tube amp soon so maybe I go completely DIY in the future…

Im not into TV enough to spend thousands,just casual DVD watching.I run a M-Audio Revolution 7.1 card in my PC for music,awesome card.Im gonna get some good headphones in the near future.

- TV - Panasonic 42" Plasma
- HT - JVC TH-C5 1000 watt Home Theatre (in a box) all in one deal, has stereo, 6 disc CD/DVD changer, powered sub center and satelites etc etc. This is a really nice system for the $$, surprised the hell out of me! around $350ish from Rosas.
- Time Warner Digital DVR
- Cables - i dont know off hand, but they cost me a fortune…running S-video on everything for now…thinking of switching to component.
- Game System = PS2…yes, that is my WIFES pink wireless controller lol.
- Yes, that is a framed picture of the mustang as well lol. its a sickness.
Thats about it…nothing fantastic, but the picture is phenomenal and the sound is great…ceiling halogens on dimmers and dark walls for that theatre experience…the 16’x20’ living room helps with the sound as well.

yeah. i was. My friend has a house that has similar wood work. I love it. And the rooms are neat too. And everything is so neat.
