so ive been on the hunt for a new set of wheels since I bought my truck.
I loathe all the options ive seen in the 5x5 bolt pattern and last night I kind of had an epiphany, now im wondering if I can make these z06 wheels work…

![http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDkwWDUwMA==/z/QMAAAOSwq7JUDb20/$_35.JPG?set_id=2](http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDkwWDUwMA==/z/QMAAAOSwq7JUDb20/%24_35.JPG?set_id=2)

I obviously understand that I would need a 5x5 --\> 5x4.75 adapter and I found some that are 2" thick which would help take care of some of the backspacing issues that I would have.

specs on these 2001-2004 Z06 wheels are:
Front:
Wheel size: 17 x 9.5
Offset: +54mm
Tire Size: 265/40/17
Back Spacing: 7.38” (187.35mm)

Rear:
Wheel size: 18 x 10.5
Offset: +58mm
Tire Size: 295/35/18
Back Spacing: 8.03” (204.05mm)

so if I were to find a 2" set of adapters that would make the front 17x9.5 with a 5.38" backspace and the rear an 18x10.5 with a 6.03" backspace…I would also be using 255/50-17 tires up front and 275/55-18 tires in the rear

my current setup is

front:
18x8
4.5" backspace
255/45/18

rear:
18x9.5
5.25" backspace
295/55/18

although I did just stumble on this guy running the same wheels as me with a more aggressive front setup

18x9.5 with 5.25" bs on all 4 corners

so it seems like the front wheels would work no problem but the rears I may run into some issues with.

**my real question is should I feel comfortable running 2" adapters ?!?!?**

I think they would look pretty good.

im just so fed up with the lame flat lip lots of dish options and I don’t really love rallye wheels enough to run them

Tough gig…

I support the wheels but I’ve never run spacers… sooo…

This is all my father wants to run on our truck and nothing will steer him away. I hate them along with the gunmetal/chrome lip everyone and their brother runs on the old chevy pickups.

I looked into the c6 wheel option for my 97’ c1500 as there was a set here locally. Seems like most people shy away from the idea because of spacers and adapters.

I was talking more the torq thrust/boss style in gunmetal. I actually dig the wheels on your truck.

Yeah I’m on board with this idea.

Are you drag racing or beating the crap out of this truck? If not then I don’t see why wheel spacers would be an issue.

Would you only be running spacers in the rear?
As you know I run eBay BMW reps on my nova.
Before the mini tub I had a solid inch - inch and a half of spacer in there. Only issue I’ve had was lugs coming loose when I didn’t wham them tight enough. I blame that on not seating in the wheel properly and me not torquing properly.
Rear I see being zero issue, front it’ll be a little tougher on the hubs. Running proper adapters and not just spacers will also work in your favor.

it would be both front and rear adapters and perhaps a small 1/4"spacer in the rear for proper fitment…hopefully without a mini tub

As long as they are a legit hub centric spacer, then they will be fine.

They aren’t for sale, just figured you could mock them up and make sure you like the look before buying a set. Doesn’t help since you aren’t local.

You could easily have hubs (rotors) and axles along with the rear drums redrilled. Parts for these are cheap AF. Straight up hubcentric spacers on ARP studs, done. Problem solved…
