If you need to talk to a passenger…absolutely 100% yes. The LM is a race spec street car with zero sound dampening, unrestricted intake that sits literally 12" above your head, a straight through exhaust, oh and a full race spec _straight cut gearbox_ taken directly from the GTR’s and Longtails. That S70/2-G is deafening under throttle, the standard street F1 S70/2 was loud just barely passed TUV/DOT noise emissions standards back then…

Headset also save you from premature hearing loss…

Really? Cuz in the video it didnt seem too terribly loud, my car has no sound deadning, loud and shit. But i guess you’d have to hear the car in person to get the full effect.

Yeah, it’s really the gearbox + intake note in the LM that deems the need for those headsets. I think they were pulling the audio through the headset itself which is why it’s muted. I have a couple WAV files here somewhere of true in-car audio of the GTR’s during the infamous '95 Lemans (where they decimated the competition). The noise is incredible and the high pitch schrill of the drivetrain would certainly cause some sort of hearing degradation over time w/o protection(helmet or headset).

I’ll dig and post the WAV files here.

Shit I forgot that I formated my pc a couple weeks back. Erased my files ☹

Anyway here’s a GTR(the five LMs are just this plus VIN + HF titanium cell cats). Turn volume up.

Epic sound. IMO the greatest sound ever produced in a car that hit the streets.

If I had a spare 25K lying around I could theoretically design a crank and billet AL block in Solidworks and use the heads/valvetrain/internals from two S50’s and make a motor similar to this. If I could get this sound + 400whp in my kit car for under $30K I’d throw my turbocharger/existing drivetrain out the shop door to rust!
