# Z31NA2T's 87 NA2T 300ZX - "The Slut Z"

This car has changed hands so many times in the last year its not funny…but either way, its my car now. Been wanting something to have some fun with but not care tooooo much about like I do with my 86T, and since this car has had rust in its life (1/4s had holes at the bottom, typical spot) I’m not too concerned about it…plus I did a good majority of the work to it so I know it.

I traded my 97 Ram for this car and a 94 Nissan Altima…

Anyways, Specs:

Engine:  
-'84 VG30ET (7.8:1 CR obviously)  
-Brand new timing belt & tensioner  
-Brand new water pump  
-Ported turbo-auto oil pump  
-FMIC setup with 2.5" pipes  
-Gutted plenum with removable lid  
-Stock T3 @ 10psi  
-3" CM turbo-back exhaust /w single tip muffler and test pipe  
-Turbo dual-core radiator  
-Intrepid Electric fans

Drivetrain:  
-DXD Stage 3 Endurance clutch  
-Turbo rear axles  
-Short throw shifter

Suspension/Brakes:  
-Suspension Techniques springs  
-Bilstein HDs  
-Fully poly  
-87 turbo front brakes (BRAND NEW CALIPERs, PADS ETC ALL AROUND)

Thats all for now…its getting a welded diff or a LSD soon (likely LSD).

Not much really, its pretty good as it is…mainly just LSD, modified steering knuckles for moar steering angle and eventually coilovers 😉 Just going to drive it until the other one is done, then dorifto car.

Getting good rear tires on it…on a set of stock 15" 86 wheels. LOL

You should put those Starion/Conquest wheels on all 4 corners…they look wayyy better than the factory Z wheels…

Thats the plan, once I get some 16" tires for them. The rear had 205/55R16s that were now bald…lol

hahah, they work fine for what I’m using them for…too much camber and RWD and ice for the car to move right now though -.-

Evidently a Nissan dealer somewhere who did an injector campaign though this was acceptable…caused the car to miss on 2 cylinders.

Subframe is out…time to go dig out my other one that isn’t bent from scraping on the ground…then paint it, new bushings and throw it in!

GL 3-spoke steering wheel (to get rid of the now non-functioning steering wheel buttons for the radio and such) and a “new” gauge cluster with the hopes that it’ll fix the speedometer since the wiring and speed sensor seem to be fine.

On this car (Yeah, I’m prettymuch building 2 Z31s at the same time, both with different purposes in my life…haha) I pulled the dash to do the gauge cluster, some wiring and other crap…

The 3" exhaust wasn’t quite bent properly (there was a small batch of them with this issue from Certified Muffler, this is one)…it was hitting the floor…so I smashed with BFH. No f\*cks given on this car.

Some extra welding required over here compared to the other side…once repair work is done, stitch welding will begin most likely.

I like the progect. I might be fixing my beater in about the same condition as this. so its nice motivation.

Does the tire rub at all on the inside?

Stock wheels/tires do not…but stock wheels are also battleship as fuck…so it leaves room to go wider with a proper offset. Should be able to clear ~265s up front with coilovers and no rubbing anywhere…but with struts they’d likely rub on the lower spring seat.

Don’t parallel park much around my area, but should be. Its not the purpose though 😉 haha
