Jeans are crummy for protection. My knee touched the ground by mistake once a year or so ago in my jeans while being a bit aggressive on a round about turn. Regardless of the stupidity of any rider who wrecks I would still make sure that rider is OK, or do what I could to help until the AMBERLAMPS arrives!
