Actually it wasnt a cost cutting measure, they did it so only the flagship lambo had the doors.

No, the irony is that the old dude on the left owns a riced out civic. Riced out civics typically belong to young kids. Yet there is someone seemingly younger getting into the more expensive car that you would think only an old man could afford. Hence, situational irony.
