I never even bothered to clean mine when the motor was out. The motor is all painted though.
I wish I could get some kind of plastic cover for the motor like newer cars have.

I think they look good. Id rather open the hood and see a nice cover than a greasy motor. It just cleans up the looks without doing anything.

Its a brand new motor so it is clean, painted and not greasy right now.

I like the plastic on the trucks motor too. Its dirty in this pic but I cleaned it the last time I washed the truck with tire shine shit and it looks good. Easy to clean too.
