So the car has been in my barn since purchase and the battery went dead (understandable). I moved it the other day and the right rear brake blew. I am not sure if it is just a line or what. So today I tried starting it and it wonât run for more than about one second.
Does anyone have any ideas why it would start but then stall? If I rev it, the rpm climb but then it stalls after a second. No CEL⌠believe it or not.
???
$500
I would wager the fact that it is
A). 13 years old
B). an Audi
has something to do with it.
Thanks for the advice, I will start with the fuel pump.
large Vacuum Leak, if it runs at all i doubt its the pump. you could try unpluging the maf and see if it will run open loop that will cause a CEL though.
if you have Vag-com you should also do a throttle body adaptation.
wtf??? Did it get attacked by mice.
Possibly. I am going to dig into it tonight a bit.
$501
Will pick up
Sounds airflow related. Check the filter box for mouse home
No mice.
After poking around under the hood looking for leaks etc, I was reminded why I donât work on cars.
Of the 16 Audis I have owned, this is the very first time I have had one that will not drive. Sure I have had plenty of repairs but they have ALWAYS been driveable. I canât even move the fucking thing in my driveway.
Sounds immobilizer / key fob related. If you have a different key, try that. Make sure the batteries in the key are good then try a key adaptation:
You da man Matt Danger! I used the valet key and she fired right up (with a jump.) The car is doing some funky electrical stuff, I am hoping it is just from the low voltage.
Gotta have good voltage or they get real crankyâŚ
