Vladimir,
Got you PM thanks and thanks for featuiring it in your blog.
The track in Bahrain (Oasis Layout) this isn’t the layout used by F1 but the V8s will be racing on that layout also, they support the GP2 and F1 races there early next year. This year the series is running at the Bahrain Circuit also, in previous years they have raced at Yas Marina (F1 Support), Reem (Saudi Arabia) and Dubai.
The cars are Chevrolet Luminas (or if you are in Australia ‘Holden Commodore’ or in the UK Vauxhall Monaro VXR8). The cars are built by the race series organisers so are nowhere near as sophisticated as the Aussie V8s. They have around 500bhp and limited suspension adjustments. Gearbox is manual with sequential shifter.
The cars move around a lot and are a bit of a handful (I am lucky enough to have driven these in anger in the UK - Members of the public can also drive them at Rockingham & Donington, activities run by ‘The Racing School’)
It is quite a physical series, partly due to the nature of the cars, brakes are difficult to judge and the tyres go off in the heat. Most of the drivers are in their 3rd or 4th season.
Abdulaziz is an ‘infamous’ Saudi drifter, street racer and drag racer and is a great guy and a talented racer. I’m just putting an experimental highlights video together, will post the link when it’s up.
There are LOADS of other videos from this series and lots of others on my Youtube channel, over 400 at the last count and more being added all the time.
