They were banned in some Viper club a few years ago, along with CCW’s, there was some defect with the Viper fitment wheels that caused a bunch of failures with repeated, heavy track use.

Wheels are considered wear parts in racing as well, smart people keep very close watch on ANY of their race wheels, teams that run 3 piece wheels rebuild them regularly. Even monoblock wheels are tossed after so many cycles/hours of usage.

Interesting. I didnt know that about HRE and CCW. Im not into any racing. But thats good info to know.

I was aware about the frequent rebuilds and replacing monoblock after a while
