Oh ok, makes way more sense now. From your first post it could be interpreted he was bidding it up buying or people were bidding it up selling.

Yeah, on nice houses that happens a lot, but there is still a glut of homes on the market, even in Pittsburgh.

Me either. Looking at the Yahoo Dow chart, from Sept 28. 1987 to Nov. 30, 1987 it dropped 33%. In a span from 1973 to 1975, it dropped 44%.

From Sep. 26, 2008 to Oct. 10, 2008 it dropped 24%. Even if you look at the peak from Oct. 2007 of around 14000, it’s gone down 33%.

I’m not trying to downplay what’s going on, but there have been similar drops in the past. And yes, I understand that we may not be at the bottom of this decline yet.

Today is a good day so far for the DOW…up over 9,000 (+570)

Is anyone else trying to sell a house right now? The wife and I are considering upgrading from our townhouse into a free-standing house. We have seen plenty of homes that we could buy, but I am worried about being able to sell ours. I think ours is one of the nicer homes in the neighborhood, I just don’t know what to expect if we put it on the market.
