This car has never ran 20psi on the street. Only on the dyno. The runs at the track have been between 15-18psi. The car runs flawlessly and has been boosted for the last 3 months and daily driven. Im pretty sure there is nothing to worry about but last I talked to Matt hes keeping the car and we are pulling the motor to build it. You guys missed out on a Spotless civic that moves out.
what tq did it make
496whp, 375tq 21psi.
im sorry 18lbs is still a bit much for a stock block. my family has been building motors for 20 years. I have seen motors blow apart at 11lbs. it still may run strong but your compression is down a bit. those rings are pretty beat up.
Again the motor has only seen higher boost a handful of times. Its a ticking time bomb at that point. Its the chances we take. Its amazing what a well taken care of motor can do. The motor has 100k on it so of course things are a bit worn. Its still proven both on the dyno, at the track, and on the street, daily driven. The car runs flawlessly and doesnt smoke whatsoever. Regardless, The Turbo, Motor, Trans are all out of the car as of today. I Have chosen to keep her. 600whp next spring…Stay tuned everyone. Built longblock, GT35R…
This civic is hot you definitly did it right 8900 isnt bad for this civic
Almost 500hp wow
Tune the cars after you boost them.
Haha yeah. Tuning is key my friend.
Yea I dont care if your family builds pro drag motors his compression is spot on so stop talking about a car you know nothing of
why does everyone conderdict such nice cars and always pick them apart to every little thing can’t anyone just let these little things go…
we all have our opinions, some are just certified, proven, and a little more professional than others. I wasnt picking his car apart. People just need to be warned about boost and stock internals. oh and we do build pro drag motors, rally motors, pretty much all motors. even did a 400 hp 04’ arctic cat zr 440 sno pro mod. and if I am correct I have built and rebuilt more motors tha you have had birthdays. so before you attack me, know who you are talking to. and I still dont care, 18lbs on a stock motor is still going to cause damage. maybe you need to catch up on your monthly reading of boost magazine. oh and tuning the car does not change the pressure that is impossed on those stock internal parts. tuning does make the car perform better, but does nothing to protect the internals from too much pressure from boost. and last I love hondas and his car is gorgeous, but the motor is a ticking bomb and if he did sell it to someone that was not familar at 18lbs the motor would not last long.
Not even a word…
con·tra·dict (kän′trə dikt′)
to assert the opposite of (what someone else has said)
to deny the statement of (a person)
to declare (a statement, report, etc.) to be false or incorrect
to be contrary or opposed to; go against the facts contradict his theory
To the seller, GLWS.
To potential buyers, KNOW what you are buying and be sure you know how to run and maintain it before you shell the $ out.
I donno who you think you are talking to like that… Stop acting like you are god building motors. Im fully aware of the imense cylinder pressure and abuse my stock engine is taking. It was my own personal choice to prove that 10s can be had on a completely bone stock Honda longblock. It has been proven many, many times before my self but i love to push the limits of stock sleeves. Hence my 405whp Bone stock B16 and This 496whp Bone stock b18c I could honestly careless what you do or how long you’ve been doing it. I do all my own work as well. Stop cluttering up the thread :smash2:
I have nothing to hide also. Everyone is familliar with the fact that it was ran at 18psi. I stated it was dyno tuned to 21 psi actually. Regardless, Engine is out of the car and being disassembled as we speak.
so are you parting it out then…?
edit: sorry just read you were pulling it to build the motor
Hes building a full out pro rally/drag/sled cross/panty dropper b18 so civic pride will shit his mouth. Im glad you think you have been building professional motors for longer then I have graced this fine earth but that does not mean you know this car from a hole in the wall you moron. Yea will the motor last another 20k…doubtful but so far its held up for more then 3k and if its maintained it will last another 3k. Tuning does help save the motor you genious seeing how it wont run stock timing maps and fuel maps. Go build more drag cars and get out of this thread
wow… i think Hell just froze over… i think i found a Honda that i love… very nice car man, i wish i could afford it as another toy. GLWS
:io:
