the Ford GT is a great LSR car. great cD stock, low frontal area. very sleek car. but as speed increases, lift will increase, so naturally you will want to counter it with increased downforce. to overcome the increased drag from the added downforce you will need more power… its a sick cycle. with one, comes more of the other.
275 will be seen no problem this year. OT but, Brett did you get to see the turbo busas run at Maxton? One of my favorite vids is one that does 256… that track is scary looking.
dude maxton is the mans mile. it dog legs, and its wicked bumpy. 240 at maxton is unbeleivable. at the April meet a bike went 272.34mph
fastest 4 wheeled vehicle was mike reichens evo2 at 237, then sunday a camarobird went 241. thats crazy fast for maxton.
miami and texas are dream miles compared to maxton. smooth and straight.
Any idea of the specs on the 272 bike?
its a full fairing bike obviously. but he caught a cone coming around the dog leg and shattered it. still went 272 with that huge hole.

thats charlie anstaett. his bike was built and tuned by dave owens aka daveo( who passed away after an accident at maxton in 2008)

yeah. 216 on his all motor hayabusa. my friend who lives down there and knew daveo told me that at the next event dave o’s son road the mile and spread his ashes on the track.
