There is a chance I’ll be there in a multicolor beater looking car.
Yeah, I’ve been “practicing” on some very open, simple 90* turns and have been doing just fine, in control, etc., but I know that correctly drifting a long, sweeping increasing or decreasing radius turn is a whole different ball game. And then think about linking a few of those together :ohnoes :lol
Decreasing radius should be easiest for you out of all other types of turns. You got the weight out back so it should help to pull the ass out on decel. Which you’d be doing for a decreasing radius turn. Feel me?
Problem with Mr2’s is, under acceleration they gets more traction, and under throttle lift off decel they snap out.
Yeah that’s my point, under decel the rear end will want to come out, so as he’s scrubbing off speed sideways for a decreasinf radius turn itll be easier to keep the ass where it needs to be. Out.
for that kind of car (mr2) he is going to need some killer streering angle and neg camber to help him drift better.
if you get 10mm spacers for your front rims and leave the rear stock you’ll find it a bit easier for drifting an underpowered car. it will help the back swing out by just flicking the wheel.
Well if the car is running by the event, power should take care of the problem of kicking the rear end out, it’s keeping there that will be a problem.
One way or another, I’m planing on being towed home, either the diff or the clutch will go if the car is fixed.
:lol Awesome!
i have an ebrake now, i could try to drift. lol.
Not to knock it cause its cool as hell, but is there a worse way to beat on ur car? R these your DDs for most of you? How do u afford rubber for those of u who get a few of these events in?
Hitting potholes (and autox) is harder on a car. Luckily at LVD you can drift over potholes so it’s win-win.
Wish I was in town, it’d be nice to beat on Benny’s new whip.
Since when is beating on cars not fun?
It doesn’t beat on your car, it beats on your tires.
You pay for tires two ways:
-
You don’t, just get scrubs from any tire place. (this only works if you have 14/15/16" beater wheels)
-
Kick ass, get a tire sponsor, get some baller wheels and burn through someone else’s money.
it beats on your car for sure. i use my dd but i also have another car i only mostly for winter but i can drive it if need be. i run tires from all the local shops that they say are “bad” or have poor tread. like benny said either 14,15,16 from said shops or you are worthy and you have a sponsor. it’s fun and it’s worth taking a chance of breaking your car besides it’s about the same as running you car in the 1/4 mile and auto-x .
DO IT!
14x5.5 wheels FTW
maybe we can twin drift as i might be in a multicolor silvia coupe!
no waiii twinz! Would it be okay if I show up with no front bumper cover?
nope. i wont let you in
